Barbara Clark is one of those amazing people who have always known their expertise. Even as a small child she puzzled over how clothes made people so beautiful. At the age of thirteen she made her first real wedding dress using a Vogue pattern which came back to her recently when she made an updated version of the same dress for that first brides daughter. By the time Barbara went to Soho College in Birmingham to study under the exceptional Mrs Shrewsbury she was already extremely skilled in many aspects of dress, millinery, floristry and hairdressing. She was a star pupil but above all she learned the art of fine dressmaking and the relationship of her clothes to the human figure - she became a true Couturier and Designer, making the most wonderful clothes.

Working from Cranwell House in Birmingham her clothes soon became noticed by the major couturiers and for some years she supplied clothes to the couturiers of Europe, Japan and New York. Sir Hardy Amies was one her ardent supporters and she supplied his studio until he retired from active work. Now she concentrates her skills into the Bridal field where she is one of the truly creative British bridal designers. Dresses can be designed to fit your ideas, the occasion, or the theme of your wedding, even if you have no idea what you want, a coffee and a chat soon lead to exciting ideas. Apart from the 'normal' wedding dress Barbara has experience in all kinds of dresses - from cathedral weddings to quirky weddings and from beach weddings to the quiet second time weddings. All of them receive the same dedicated attention.

In 1999, Barbara began to supply ready to wear wedding dresses. The great advantage of the couture background has proved of great significance because the expertise is such that a dress can be beautifully changed and adjusted in any way to ensure that it is a perfect match to the personality of the bride.

Today sees Barbara Clark Bridal Studio with a superb reputation as one Britain's happiest and helpful salons and coupled with with a vast knowledge of the Bridal industry and great expertise in dress you can be assured of total support in your wedding preparations.
