Barbara’s comment.

Sarah’s dress was complete romance.  A stapless dress with perfect fit so that she could sparkle throughout her day.  White duchess satin was decided upon and this was to be used in in a large skirt but no hoping was to show so some twenty layers of tulle were built into the underskirts. 
The boddice was encrusted with the finest Swarovski crystals which were especially ground to prevent any scratching of the underarm.

The back was featured with satin covered buttons and fastened with rouleau loops - one of our specialities.

A full length veil in white tulle matched the tulle in the dress.

The tiara was made in crystal and diamante by our tiara designer Jill to coordinate with the boddice.

Fun loving Julie's beautiful dress was typical of the co-operation between  a designer and a bride.  At first she knew she wanted a Spanish style  wedding and a white dress to accentuate her lovely figure.  After a coffee and chat we produced a few drawings and fabrics and  in general decided upon a  sweetheart neckline supported by a wide halter neck and full skirt.  A toile ( body shape) was cut in calico to ensure that everything fit exactly in the right place and from this the the dress was cut in duchess satin  and diamond white organza.   Various changes in thoughts and ideas during the fittings.  The bodice was heavily beaded in fine Swarovski crystal.   Our own headdress designer Jill used matching crystals to make the crown tiara.   A silk white tie and hankerchief was made for the father of the bride to match the fabric of Julie’s dress.

The bridesmaids had to highlight the Spanish theme and research was carried out into dresses with a flamenco influence and colour.  All the adult bridesmaids were similar but it was decided to give the junior bridesmaids additional frills rather than a train to follow traditional Spanish.  A ring cushion was made in matching fabric and carried by the young pageboy in traditional ‘trajes de corto’ dress. 

Barbara and her hairstylist Elaine attended the wedding to ensure the dress and hair were perfect at all times.
